Great, as if I needed another reminder that I have no musical talent... For those of you who have known me for a while, you may remember my stint attempting to learn guitar toward the beginning of high school and end of middle school which ended when I dropped my Fender and its neck snapped. Yeah, not fun. By the way, I have a Fender with a broken neck I'd like to sell if anyone wants it. I'm guessing I won't get many offers on this one.
Anyway, there were like two actual songs I learned to play before that unfortunate incident... One of them was "Bathwater" by No Doubt, which was already covered in a previous blog so go read that if you want to hear about the glory of No Doubt (which I hope you already know about) and I could only play part of it, and the other one was "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. Seriously, this song is super easy. It's all freakin' power chords.
As much as I'm really not into Green Day much anymore (I still like them but there's MUCH better music out there, trust me) they'll always hold a special place in my heart because they were the first real concert I went to waaaaay back in freshman year of high school with my buddy Kathryn. It was a really good show, not gonna lie, and a really good first concert. And it started an addiction that I still have to this day...
